St. Gangolf

Sankt Gangolf is the oldest church in Bamberg. Although it was built chronologically as the fourth church, it is the only church in the city that has retained its original structure over the centuries.

The location of the church is the Theuerstadt, one of the oldest populated areas of Bamberg. Its origin can be traced back to a trade route on which the inhabitants gradually settled. Later a gardener district was built here. Weiterlesen »
