Natural History Museum
The Natural History Museum of Bamberg is one of the oldest museums in Germany, and was founded as part of the Jesuit College of the city.
Its roots go back to the Prince Bishop Franz von Erthal. He decided in 1791 to build a so-called Natural History Cabinet. It was designed to research, collect, detect and catalog biological and geological objects of the bishopric of Bamberg. The museum is still today located in the former rooms of the Jesuit College in the island district. Weiterlesen »
