Marcus House

As the personal physician of the bishop, clinic director and patron of the Altenburg in Bamberg, Dr. Adalbert Friedrich Marcus made a name for himself in his home town in many ways in the 19th century.

In 1880, the city decided to honor the commitment of Marcus and named the new Square on the former grazing land in the north of the city after him.
