Art Nouveau toilet at ZOB

The Art Nouveau toilet at the Central Bus Station (ZOB) is probably one of the most curious "sights" of Bamberg. It was built in 1904 according to a design by the Bamberg master builder Hans Jakob Erlwein as a so-called public lavatory (restroom) or toilet kiosk.
The most striking feature of the Art Nouveau toilet is its yellow façade with the white relief sculpture in the form of alder branches. Here Erlwein alluded to his own name.
