Synagogue Square

At the beginning of the 20th century Bamberg's Jewish community had grown so much that the old synagogue no longer had enough space for all its members. For this reason, the Bamberg architect Johannes Kronfuß built in 1910 a new magnificent synagogue near Wilhelmsplatz, which could be seen from afar when approaching the city from the direction of Nuremberg.
